Ongoing Art Classes with Maureen Brouillette

Fast and Loose Painting Class

Put the fun back into painting in these fast-paced and informative classes. Enjoy the thrill of pushing paint around to achieve a loose, painterly style. Learn to mix colors with just seven tubes of paint. Learn to simplify your compositions for bolder design. Stop fussing with details and learn to see the big picture.

We will be painting contemporary, realistic subject matter. Plan to work quickly and finish several small paintings in each class. We are not going to over-think, over plan, or overwork our art! Rather than aiming for perfection, we’ll be aiming for freshness, looseness, and originality.

Each class includes a brief introduction, a painting demonstration, and student painting with supervision. Each class ends with a group critique. All levels are welcome, including beginners.
